ABOUT OUR CHURCH

Our church, founded in 1987, upholds the faith, teachings, and traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido religion. With over 1500 registered members, we are the largest Ethiopian Orthodox parish church in the Washington metropolitan area. Our board of trustees, consisting of 13 members elected by the general membership, shapes policy and provides direction in line with our churchʼs vision. We are committed to overseeing the development and wellbeing of our church, and we continue to fulfill our mission by baptizing infants, administering the sacrament of holy matrimony, and conducting memorial services for the community. Holy communion services are held every Sunday morning, and we broadcast many of our services via live stream, Facebook, and YouTube to reach members unable to attend in person.
